If you have experienced impact outside of what is listed below, please reach out to Google Support by opening a case https://cloud.google.com/support (All Times US/Pacific) Incident Start: 20 April 2021 17:59 Incident End: 20 April 2021 22:18 Duration: 4 hours, 19 minutes Affected Services and Features: Cloud Vision - Vision API Regions/Zones: Global Description: Cloud Vision API experienced increased latency and decreased availability for Cloud ML Vision text detection features for a duration of 4 hours, 19 minutes. From preliminary analysis, the root cause of the issue was due to a recent update in the Optical Character Recognition [OCR] Model [1] which resulted in performance issues on Cloud Vision API. [1] - https://cloud.google.com/vision/docs/ocr The issue was resolved on Wednesday, 20 April 22:18 once a rollback of the change was completed. Customer Impact: Affected customers may have experienced increased latency and elevated errors. Some features of Cloud Vision API were temporarily unavailable.
